Tony Sachet is a Stewardship Forester with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in the SW Region of Washington. Through an intergovernmental agreement Tony is available to assist WSU Extension in five SW Washington Counties. Those are Lewis, Cowlitz, Pacific, Grays Harbor and Wahkiakum.Tony's background has been in both the private and public sectors. For your stewardship forestry needs give Tony a call or send an email.

Backyard Forest Stewardship is a way for everyone to get involved in a way to care for your 'niche' of the woods.

Gary Fredricks is located in Cowlitz County and has the responsibility of supporting several Southwest Washington counties in the areas of small farms, dairy and agriculture. Gary may be reached via email at garyf@wsu.edu or by telephone, 360-577-3014 x 3,

Sheila Gray has been with WSU Extension since 1995. Prior to her appointment to Lewis County Director in 2003, she was the Natural Resources/Horticulture Agent for Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties. Sheila's background is in ornamental horticulture with crossover into native plants and forest seedling experience. She also holds an MA in public administration which she puts to use each day as the Lewis County Extension Director. She may be reached at 360-740-1214 or via email at sgray@wsu.edu.

The WSU community horticulture programs in Lewis County actively embrace "community" in educational programs and services. The WSU Master Gardener Volunteer program training is every year, from early January through mid March. Master Recycler/Composter training will be offered in partnership with the Lewis County Solid Waste Department, Spring 2009. Community education and service are extensive and involve all ages.
